Museum of Medieval Mining in the Ore Mountains

The Museum of Medieval Mining in the Ore Mountains - MiBERZ for short - displays in its exhibition rooms archaeological finds from the UNESCO World Heritage Mining Region Ore Mountains/Krušnohoří that are unique in Europe and give an insight into the life and work of medieval miners above and below ground. The Mining Museum is located in Dippoldiswalde Castle, one of the most interesting architectural monuments of the Great District Town of Dippoldiswalde. In six architecturally attractive, vaulted rooms, early technologies and equipment used in the mining and processing of silver ore are vividly explained. The rare exhibits, which are over 800 years old, impress with their excellent state of preservation.

In the fall of 2019, the museum rooms were digitized with the help of the piXplorer 5oo (pix500.net) automatic 360° recording system, and can now be visited from home.
